Optimized Rooms

Rooms scheduled by the FAS Registrar's Office, the Science Center Scheduling office, and William James Hall Building Operations use an automated process called "optimization". Courses requesting rooms in any of these spaces will need preferences set via RoomBook.

1. Select the course for which you're adding preferences from the Academic Browser.

2. Double click to open the Course Navigator screen for that course.

3. Select the section which you would like to add preferences for, then click "Edit".

4. In the "Room Settings" section, leave "Set Standard Room Preferences" button selected.

5. In the "Preferences" section, select the building or area the course should be held. Here you may also request specific rooms and room types. You may also prefer or require rooms to have certain types of installed media, listed in the "Features" section.

6. Under settings, you may add any notes relevant to the course.

7. If multiple sections have the same preference, you may include them in the bottom section.

8. Click "OK". You should receive a message that preferences have been set.

You can review your preferences back in the Course Navigator screen.
